The Grange Vineyard (Swansea, Tasmania)

Set on a spectacular 1,204-hectare coastal property overlooking the Freycinet Peninsula, Maria Island and The Hazards, The Grange Vineyard is one of Tasmania’s most picturesque cool-climate viticulture sites. With 14 hectares under vine—Pinot Noir (2016), Pinot Gris (2023) and Chardonnay (2023).
We are seeking a motivated Vineyard Hand to join us for a short-term assignment during a key operational period. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a premium vineyard environment on a historic property established in 1840 and redeveloped for viticulture in 2016.
About the Role
This casual role involves hands-on vineyard work across our Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay blocks. Duties may include:
- Vine maintenance and canopy work
- Shoot thinning, wire lifting and general vine training
- Hand weeding and vineyard floor maintenance
- Irrigation checks and basic equipment handling
- Assisting with general property tasks as required
You’ll be working within a well-resourced operation featuring modern machinery sheds, extensive plant and equipment, and significant irrigation infrastructure including Swan Valley water entitlements and a 426 ML storage dam .
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, physically capable worker who enjoys outdoor, hands-on tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Previous vineyard or agricultural experience beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
- Available for an immediate start for approximately 4–5 weeks
