Bicheno Penguin Tours is seeking enthusiastic Tour Guides to join the team on a casual basis (approximately 6–12 hours per week).
About the Role
As a Tour Guide, you will help deliver a safe, engaging, and memorable wildlife experience for visitors to the Penguin Rookery. You will be the face of the tour, helping educate guests about local wildlife while ensuring the protection of the penguins and their habitat.
Guides play an important role in creating a respectful and enjoyable encounter between guests and the local penguin population while maintaining the high standards expected of this premium experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and informative guided tours
- Communicate confidently with groups of visitors
- Share knowledge about penguins and the local environment
- Manage group dynamics and ensure guest safety
- Follow operational procedures and tour guidelines
- Help protect wildlife and promote environmental awareness
- Work collaboratively with the tour team
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Friendly and engaging customer service approach
- Ability to manage and guide groups of people
- Awareness of safety and risk management
- Interest in wildlife and the local environment
- Ability to work well within a team
Experience
No previous experience is required. We are looking for people with a great attitude, confidence speaking to groups, and a passion for sharing knowledge.
