Weekend Retail Manager & Penguin Tour Operations – Bicheno
Location: Bicheno, Tasmania
Employment Type: Part-time, Permanent (24–26 hours per week; more during peak seasons)
Bicheno Surf Shop and Bicheno Penguin Tours are seeking a Weekend Retail Manager & Penguin Tour Operations professional to lead and contribute to both our retail and wildlife tour operations. This senior role combines daytime retail management with nighttime tour guide duties, providing a hands-on leadership opportunity across two dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage retail operations, including staff supervision, sales, and day-to-day shop management.
- Deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality Penguin Tour experiences for visitors.
- Coordinate tour logistics, manage guest flow, and ensure excellent customer service.
- Support marketing and digital engagement activities for the retail and tour businesses.
- Lead by example, fostering a professional, positive, and guest-focused team culture.
- Uphold wildlife protection and environmental responsibility standards.
Requirements:
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong customer service, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Experience in retail operations, sales, and basic digital engagement/marketing.
- Organisational and problem-solving skills to manage tours and logistics.
- Knowledge of wildlife awareness and environmental best practices.
- Flexibility to work split shifts across day and night operations.
