We are seeking a reliable and motivated Oyster Farmer to join our team at Lease 65. This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone who enjoys working on the water and being part of a growing aquaculture operation.
About the Role
The Oyster Farmer will assist with the day-to-day operations of oyster cultivation, maintenance, and harvest. This role requires physical work in marine conditions and a strong commitment to quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oyster husbandry, including grading, tumbling, and bagging
- Routine maintenance of oyster gear and lease infrastructure
- Harvesting and preparing oysters for market
- Monitoring oyster health and growing conditions
- Operating small vessels and basic farm equipment
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Skills & Requirements
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to lift moderate loads
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic
- Previous aquaculture, fishing, or marine experience preferred (but not required)
- Boat handling experience and relevant licenses are an advantage
