Iconic local business Serpentarium Wildlife Park in St Helens are seeking a keeper to join their team.
Position Description
- Animal husbandry, enrichment & care, specializing in reptiles.
- Duties include working with Macropods, Aves, & Reptiles, all non-venomous snakes.
- Handling monitors, crocodiles, pythons, birds, kangaroos, wallabies, pademelon.
- Cash & EFT handling, customer service. Cafe service as required. Removing trash & bin liners.
- Hospitality, public speaking & presenting, sharing reptiles.
- General cleaning; bathroom, windows, enclosures.
- Park grounds; raking, weeding, collecting/ removing browse, branches.
- Cleaning windows, removing faeces, sanitising, sweeping.
Minimum Experience
2 years’ experience in related industry as animal keeper with education requirement including Certificate II & III in Animal Studies, Captive Animals, or related industry preferred.
Must be a hard worker, a mover, and a shaker, enthusiastic, motivated, loves reptiles and all creatures great & small. Positive attitude, courteous, professional, with great sense of humour.
Family environment, working with small children, mobility, and special needs individuals.
We are a small family tourism operation, so we each do a bit of everything.
You must also be physically capable of manual handling & lifting 10 – 15 kgs and have a current Working with Vulnerable People card (WWVP)
