Job Description
The Presenting Keeper is responsible for the care, enrichment, and management of animals at the park, with a focus on reptiles. This role combines animal husbandry, public engagement, and general park maintenance, requiring a flexible and enthusiastic all-rounder.
Key Responsibilities
- Public Engagement & Education:
- Present animals and interact with visitors
- Customer service, including cash/EFT handling and café service when required
- Park Maintenance & Cleaning:
- General cleaning: bathrooms, windows, enclosures
- Grounds maintenance: raking, weeding, removing browse, branches, and waste
- Physically capable of lifting 10–15 kg
- Compliance:
- Acquire and maintain a Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines
Minimum Experience & Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience in a related animal care role preferred
- Certificate II & III in Animal Studies, Captive Animals, or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of animals safely and confidently
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about wildlife and public education
