Beachfront Bicheno
Set on the iconic Great Eastern Drive and surrounded by pristine coastline, award‑winning vineyards and two national parks, Beachfront Bicheno is one of the East Coast’s most welcoming accommodation destinations. With 51 spacious hotel rooms, 3 two‑bedroom apartments, a cosy public bar, bistro, pool, BBQ areas, and unbeatable views over Waub’s Bay, this is a workplace where every day feels connected to the coast.
We are once again looking for a reliable and practical Handy Person / Maintenance Assistant to help keep our property running smoothly.
About the Role:
This is a hands‑on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working independently and taking pride in the presentation of a busy accommodation venue.
Approximately 27 hours per week are on offer.
You’ll be responsible for general upkeep across the property, supporting the team to ensure our rooms, grounds and facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance across hotel rooms, apartments and public areas
- Assist with basic plumbing, painting, patching, carpentry and grounds work
- Conduct regular property checks and report issues promptly
- Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, pool surrounds and BBQ spaces
- Support the housekeeping and operations teams with practical tasks as needed
- Ensure tools, equipment and storage areas are kept tidy and safe
- Provide friendly, professional interactions with guests when required

- Practical, hands‑on person with general maintenance experience
- Trade qualification not required, but highly regarded
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Reliable, safety‑minded and proactive
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Someone who enjoys a relaxed coastal environment and community
