Job Description

The Bark Mill Tavern in Swansea, Tasmania is looking for an experienced hands-on hospitality professional to take on the role of Food & Beverage Supervisor. The Bark Mill Swansea is the perfect destination stop along the East Coast of Tasmania providing a diverse range of dining options in one venue. The venue boasts a Bakery/Café, Bottle shop, Bar, Restaurant, and outdoor dining areas.

As the appointed Supervisor, your role is to lead the Tavern team which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Create and contribute to a vibrant local venue and tourism experience.
  • The responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, tavern & bottle shop
  • Supervising the FOH team to ensure quality service and standards in delivering a memorable guest experience
  • Ensuring your area follows local and government regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements and local policies and procedures
  • Drive the performance and engagement of the team
  • General F&B administration

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Experience in multifaceted supervision of hospitality venues
  • To be innovative
  • Strong customer service and exceptional communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organisational skills
  • Valid Tasmanian RSA, valid RSG/RCG, and Keno licence
  • Flexibility – early, late, weekend, night and holiday shifts, this position will be commencing mid-August
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
