Job Description
Break O’Day Council is seeking expressions of interest from motivated people who enjoy practical, hands-on outdoor work and want to contribute to the local community.
Over the next six months, Council expects opportunities may become available across its Outdoor Workforce, including full-time, part-time and casual roles.
Roles may include:
• Waste Transfer Station Attendant
Immediate need. Supporting operations at Council Waste Transfer Stations, including customer service, site maintenance, waste segregation, fee collection and operating small plant and equipment.
• Municipal Worker
Supporting roads, stormwater, parks and town maintenance through plant operation, labouring, vegetation management, minor construction and general maintenance.
• Truck Driver / Plant Operator
Driving and operating trucks and plant, assisting with road, drain, footpath and park maintenance, waste and recycling services, and general municipal work.
Council is looking for people who are reliable, safety focused, adaptable and willing to learn. Applicants should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Relevant licences, tickets and experience with tools, machinery or plant will be highly regarded.
