About the Role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will be at the frontline of service delivery, providing outstanding customer experiences and supporting customers to achieve their financial goals. You will have the autonomy to deliver personalised service, assist with everyday banking needs, and promote our digital and product offerings.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, adapting to change, and contributing positively to their community.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Engagement
- Deliver exceptional customer service through face-to-face and phone interactions
- Explore customer needs through meaningful conversations and connect them with appropriate products or specialists
- Assist customers with transactions, account enquiries, and general banking services
Digital & Product Support
- Educate customers on digital banking platforms and support their online banking needs
- Keep up to date with new products, services, and technology
Operations, Risk & Compliance
- Process transactions accurately and securely, including cash handling
- Investigate customer queries and assist with required documentation
- Maintain a strong risk and compliance mindset at all times
Learning & Development
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement
- Participate in on-the-job training and development opportunities through BEN U
Community & Team Collaboration
- Act as a positive representative of the Bendigo Bank brand
- Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and the local community
- Work collaboratively within the branch to achieve shared goals
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong customer focus, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a customer service environment with the ability to achieve targets
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and secure transactions
- Confidence communicating with customers both face-to-face and over the phone
- Willingness to learn and communicate what makes Bendigo Bank different
- A team-focused approach with a strong sense of collaboration and mateship
- Experience in banking or financial services is desirable but not essential
