Job Description

About St Helens Neighbourhood House

St Helens Neighbourhood House is a community-based organisation supporting people to connect, participate, build skills and access opportunities within the local community.

Our work is guided by a commitment to inclusion, community participation, safety, respect and continuous improvement.

St Helens Neighbourhood House is currently implementing a Structured Recovery and Assurance Framework (SRAF) in partnership with the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC) and other relevant stakeholders.

The Framework provides an important opportunity to strengthen the organisation’s governance, workplace systems, community engagement, strategic planning and operational practices.

Position Overview

The Project Officer – Structured Recovery and Assurance Framework is a project coordination and delivery role providing structured project support to the Manager.

The immediate priorities of the position are to support the Manager with implementation of the Structured Recovery and Assurance Framework (SRAF) and agreed Work Health and Safety (WHS) and WorkSafe Tasmania actions, including actions associated with Improvement Notice IMP-3893.

The SRAF contains a significant program of activities across governance, workplace safety, community engagement and organisational improvement. The Project Officer will assist the Manager to coordinate these activities, monitor progress, maintain documentation, prepare evidence and support the Board, committees and working groups to fulfil their respective responsibilities.

The role requires regular interaction with the Manager, staff, volunteers, Board members, community members, government agencies and external stakeholders.

This is a support and delivery role. It is not a governance, management or independent assurance role.

Governance responsibility rests with the Board, operational management responsibility rests with the Manager, and independent SRAF assurance remains with the Independent Intermediary.

This is a 6 month contract, with 20 hours per week available. Applications close at 5pm on Friday 13 November.
