White Sands Estate is home to IronHouse Brewery & Distillery, a destination venue on Tasmania’s east coast known for its craft beer, whisky and produce-driven food. We’re seeking an experienced Chef to take a leading role in our kitchen and contribute to the continued development of our food offering.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with quality local ingredients, understands the demands of a destination venue, and takes pride in consistency, flavour and team culture.
The role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen across our brewery and distillery venue, working closely with the wider hospitality team to deliver a strong and reliable food experience for guests.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and delivering seasonal menus that complement our beer and spirits
• Leading kitchen service with an organised, steady approach
• Managing food quality, portion control and presentation
• Overseeing ordering, stock control and waste management
• Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards
About you
You are an experienced Chef who values teamwork, clear communication and well-executed food. You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the balance of service, planning and creativity.
You will bring:
• Proven experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset
• Respect for local produce and seasonal cooking
• The ability to lead by example and maintain high standards
