St Marys Hotel & Bistro + Coach House Restaurant
Part‑Time to Full‑Time Opportunity
Built in 1910, St Marys Hotel Tasmania is a beautifully authentic historic hotel known for its friendly charm, hearty meals, and strong community spirit. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team — with the unique opportunity to work across both the St Marys Hotel & Bistro and our Coach House Restaurant.
This role will begin part‑time, with the opportunity to grow into a full‑time position for the right person.
About the Role
You will work within a busy, fast‑paced kitchen preparing quality pub‑style meals and supporting smooth service across two venues. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in delivering great food to locals and visitors alike.
You’ll be part of a supportive, hardworking team that values professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude.
What We’re Looking For
- Fast‑paced kitchen experience in a hotel, pub, or food service environment
- Pub‑style dining experience
- A genuine passion for food and quality cooking
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent customer service awareness
- Reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
- Flexibility to work daytimes, afternoons and weekends
- Ability to work across both the St Marys Hotel and Coach House Restaurant
Requirements
- Food Handling and Food Safety Certificates (minimum)
- Chef qualifications or strong commercial kitchen experience
- Previous experience in pub‑style dining
- Ability to maintain high standards during busy service periods
