Job Description

WADE at Wineglass Bay Estate (Freycinet, Tasmania)

Casual | Opening September 2026 | Support a Premium, Fire‑Driven Kitchen

WADE is the new restaurant opening within Wineglass Bay Estate, a luxury waterfront retreat overlooking Moulting Lagoon on Tasmania’s East Coast.   Led by chef‑owner Wade Fordham, WADE celebrates Tasmania’s world‑class produce through seasonal menus shaped by local growers, fishermen and artisans—and brought to life over the restaurant’s signature Argentine Asado grill.

As we prepare for our opening in September, we’re seeking Casual Kitchen Hands to support our chefs and help maintain a smooth, efficient and professional kitchen environment.

About WADE

WADE is built around fire, generosity and Tasmania’s finest ingredients.  The Asado grill is the heartbeat of the kitchen, where wood, smoke and patience create bold flavours and memorable dining experiences.  Every dish reflects Wade’s philosophy: simplicity, seasonality and respect for exceptional produce.

About Wineglass Bay Estate

Set across 52 acres of native bushland, Wineglass Bay Estate offers boutique luxury retreats designed for slow living—uninterrupted waterfront views, soaring gable ceilings, natural textures and quiet, immersive luxury. WADE and the future cellar door sit separately from the accommodation precinct, ensuring the retreat experience remains peaceful and private.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Wash dishes, utensils and equipment efficiently during service

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred but not essential)
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well within a small, supportive team
  • Respect for quality produce and the craft of cooking
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and peak service periods

What We Offer

  • The chance to be part of an exciting new restaurant opening
  • A supportive, respectful kitchen culture
  • Training and development opportunities for those interested in progressing
  • Competitive casual rates
  • A stunning waterfront workplace within one of Tasmania’s most remarkable landscapes

Join the WADE Opening Team

If you’re hardworking, eager to learn and excited to be part of a premium, produce‑driven kitchen, we’d love to hear from you.
