The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Bottleshop Manager to lead the team at Bicheno Thirsty Camel, part of Beachfront Bicheno Hotel.

In this role you’ll take ownership of day-to-day operations, drive sales and compliance, and build a positive, high-performing team culture. This is a leadership role that will include a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts.

What you will do

  • Lead, coach and roster a small team to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Oversee day-to-day bottle shop operations, including stock management, merchandising, and POS systems.
  • Educate both your team and customers about a variety of liquor and wine options, staying current on trends.
  • Oversee stock ordering, stock control, rotation and merchandising
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements and company policies
  • Maintain excellent store presentation and promotional displays

What you will bring:

  • Previous management experience in retail liquor, supermarket or similar fast-paced retail environment.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Be a great communicator and able to build strong rapport with both customers and staff.
  • Have a deep understanding of liquor and wine, and be excited to share your knowledge with customers and the team.
  • Confidently handle customer inquiries, concerns, and high-pressure situations with professionalism.
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
  • Be available across 7 days, including evening shifts, and have flexibility with your schedule.
