Job Description

Thirsty Camel – Beachfront Bicheno Full Time Salary (Manager) or Part Time (Attendant) Bicheno, Tasmania – East Coast

Set on the iconic Great Eastern Drive and surrounded by pristine coastline, award‑winning vineyards and two national parks, Beachfront Bicheno is one of the East Coast’s most welcoming accommodation and hospitality destinations. With a thriving public bar, bistro, alfresco deck overlooking Waub’s Bay, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere, this is a workplace where every day feels connected to the coast.

Our Thirsty Camel Bottle Shop is an important part of the Beachfront experience — and we’re now looking for the right person to join our team in either a Bottle Shop Manager or Bottle Shop Attendant capacity.

The Opportunity

We are open to two pathways depending on the candidate:

1. Bottle Shop Manager (Full Time, Salary Position)

A great opportunity for someone ready to manage a busy, well‑loved bottle shop. No formal experience required — we value attitude, reliability and willingness to learn. Bottle shop or retail experience will be viewed favourably.

2. Bottle Shop Attendant (Part Time)

Perfect for someone seeking steady, flexible hours in a friendly coastal environment. Again, no experience required — just a positive attitude and a customer‑first approach.

For both roles, a Forklift Ticket would be highly regarded.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on the role, duties may include:

  • Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
  • Operating POS systems and handling cash/card transactions
  • Restocking shelves, rotating stock and maintaining displays
  • Receiving deliveries and assisting with stock movement (forklift use if licensed)
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe retail environment
  • Supporting the wider Beachfront Hotel team where required
  • Upholding responsible service of alcohol standards

Why Join Beachfront Bicheno?

Working here means becoming part of a relaxed, community‑minded coastal venue where guests come to unwind, explore and enjoy the best of Tasmania’s East Coast.

On your days off, you can:

  • Wander Bicheno’s beaches
  • Catch a penguin tour
  • Explore local vineyards
  • Enjoy sunrise over Waub’s Bay
  • Relax by the pool or take in the stunning coastal views

It’s a workplace that feels like part of the landscape — calm, welcoming and connected to the coast.

What We’re Looking For

  • A friendly, honest and reliable team member
  • Someone who enjoys customer interaction
  • Ability to work independently and follow procedures
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Retail or bottle shop experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • Forklift ticket (highly regarded)
  • Current RSA or willingness to obtain one
