Coach House Restaurant
St Marys, Tasmania
Casual – 20–30 hours per week
The Coach House Restaurant in St Marys is looking for a confident, reliable and customer‑focused Barista/Cook to join their friendly team. They are a busy local favourite known for great café food, quality takeaway meals and delicious homemade pizzas — and they are looking for someone who can help them keep delivering the warm, welcoming service their customers love.
About the Role
This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, can multitask, and takes pride in great food and excellent coffee. You’ll be responsible for opening the restaurant in the morning, preparing coffees for early customers, and supporting both front‑of‑house and kitchen operations throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high‑quality coffee consistently during busy service periods
- Open the restaurant in the morning and set up for daily trade
- Provide excellent customer service with a friendly, outgoing attitude
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, burgers and takeaway meals
- Cook a range of menu items including homemade pizzas, burgers, fish and chips
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
- Work effectively as part of a small, supportive team
- Assist with general café duties as required
What We’re Looking For
- Strong barista skills and the ability to make excellent coffee
- Reliable, punctual and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Confident, outgoing and comfortable engaging with customers
- Able to work weekends on a rotating roster and some evenings until 6.30pm
- Experience in hospitality, cooking or barista work is desired but not essential — we’re happy to train the right person
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
