Job Description

Freycinet Marine Farm Pty Ltd, through our two eateries, Freycinet Marine Farm and Fishers of Freycinet is on the lookout for an Assistant Manager to join our business. This is a great opportunity to be part of the Freycinet Marine Farm family as we continue to grow our awarding wining businesses on the East coast of Tasmania. 

The Company 
We are a family-owned oyster and mussel farm on the East coast of Tasmania. Our business has developed over the last 16 years into a very popular food attraction for local visitors, interstate tourists and overseas guests. This is the opportunity to share your passion and knowledge of food and service in an environment of natural beauty here in Tasmania.

The Role 
We are looking for the assistant manager to support the manager in both businesses in the day-to-day running of both our eateries. Ensuring a high level of food and customer focus is paramount, as is cooking or good food knowledge, and a previous leadership role in hospitality would be viewed favourably. To be successful you will need the following experience and attributes:

  • 3+ years relevant experience in the industry combined with the desire to lead a team. 
  • Good knowledge of food and cooking techniques.
  • Worked in fast paced restaurants, cafes, or hospitality venues.
  • Good organisation and the ability to work within a team.
  • An understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Good communication skills, positive attitude and be a team player.
  • Knowledge around stocktake, ordering, food, and wage costs.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with POS systems (Light speed).
