Job Description

Freycinet Marine Farm is on the lookout for a talented Assistant Manager to work in our two restaurants, Freycinet Marine Farm and Fishers of Freycinet. We are a family-owned oyster and mussel farm on the East Coast of Tasmania (Freycinet Peninsula).

Our business in two separate locations has developed over the last 18 years into a very popular food attraction for local, interstate and overseas guests.

The Assistant Manager must have a background in cookery to support the manager in the day-to-day running of both businesses. A high level of food and customer focus is paramount, as is cooking or good food knowledge. A previous leadership role in hospitality would be viewed favourably. To be successful you will need the following experience and attributes.

  • Must have minimum qualification of Level 5 in commercial cookery, or 5+ years relevant experience in the industry
  • Good knowledge of food and cooking techniques
  • Has worked in fast paced restaurants, cafes, or hospitality venues
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work and support a team
  • Good communication skills, positive attitude and must be a team player
  • Knowledge of stocktaking, supplier ordering, and wage costs

This role is Full time / 38hr week / 5 days a week/ weekends included / day work only / closed Christmas day and Boxing day.
